BILL HURLEY  - Vocals

Born and brought up in Londons East End, Bill's singing career started when he started sitting in with Dixieland Jazz bands in pubs at the age of 16.  By the late 1970's he was settled as the lead singer with the Inmates and in 1980 they  had a UK top 40 hit with "The Walk" and a US top 50 listing with their debut album "First Offence".  This was followed by major success in Europe including a number one album in Sweden with "The Inmates Meet the Beatles".

Bill had to leave the Inmates in 1982 for health reasons but returned to the business with a vengeance with a solo album "Double Agent", plus two top forty hits as the lead vocalist with J.B's Allstars and a top forty single with The Big Heat.

Bill then returned to the Inmates where he had remained ever since, though he released a second solo album in 1996, a highly acclaimed Elvis tribute "Angel to Memphis"

Over the years Bill has worked with such diverse performers as Tina Turner, Bo Diddley, Joe Jackson, Shane MacGowan, The Cure, The Ramones, The Stranglers, The Jam and Elvis Costello.
